The Giving Shop at Sydney Writers’ Festival

A well-chosen poem is a beautiful gift to share with someone special. This year, Story Factory is once again working with the Sydney Writers’ Festival to present The Giving Shop; a pop-up poetry store that will provide the perfect present for someone special in your life.
In exchange for a small donation, The Giving Shop provides Festival-goers with a short, personalised poem that celebrates what they treasure most about a friend, family member or loved one. Written by current students in Story Factory’s Year of Poetry program, these carefully crafted pieces reflect the ideas and experiences of young people from Western Sydney.
Whether it’s their laugh, the ability to see the world differently, or that timely delivery of a cup of tea; the Story Factory shop assistants will capture what you love and present it as a beautiful gift-wrapped poem, ready to be passed on.
