Mulan

By Cailey, Year 9

I want to be Mulan. Chop my hair off and put it in a bun in wars. I could fight for my family to keep them safe. I could ruin the standards of women not being able to be in battlefields. I would be slim and fit but still become so strong.

People who don’t know me would not think I was a slim and fragile woman.

As a woman I will stand my ground, fight in wars and be proud and have pride in myself despite being a woman. I would make my ancestors mad but in the end make them proud. My motto will be standards are just a standard, it means they can be surpassed or broken and that’s what I did. I would only reveal that I am a woman after the war and make everyone think of me as crazy but I wouldn’t care.

I won the war and fought for my family and everyone in my town. In the end, I would marry my captain and fight for our community alongside each other and support one another. Most importantly I would be Mulan, the girl who fought wars and beat men.
