My Chaos
By Ugochucku, Year 9
It’s not really chaos, or is it? Give a farmer seeds and he will make food. Give a musician an instrument and he will make music. Give a soldier an enemy… and he will make nothing. He only destroys. Kills. We sit here comparing our “chaos” to others, yet we are all different. We are all soldiers, and, if given an enemy, we’ll start war.
You know what? I sat here to write alongside my classmates. My companions. My friends, teachers, and enemies. Everyone’s chaos is different, but I sit and see the chaos there as it is.
Everyone is unique, but it’s what makes us the same. Why aren’t we on the same page? We don’t have to think the same or be the same. Understanding is all it takes, and the fact that we fail to do that is why everything is so chaotic.
Think of it like this. Everyone sees you differently. Some see you as annoying, loud, chaotic. Others see you as funny, calm, polite. The point is, the only person who see you for yourself is you.
So I’ve changed my mind. The chaos isn’t one for the blind eye. Even I don’t see the chaos. Maybe the chaos is us as people. We only see what we want to believe, not what we need to see. It is us fighting against reality. We fight for what we want all the time. We all want that front page. My chaos is not accepting to be behind the curtains. My chaos is not accepting my place in other people’s story. But the reality is, sometimes I need to fall back. All of us.
This is my chaos.
