Moon and Stars Thief
By Madi, Year 9
I watched as she stood under the moon. Her features lighting up under the glow. She was excited and smiling like a little kid. She looked to me. She is the most beautiful pattern of beauty on the fabric of love. If looks could kill, I’d be a pile of ash on the dusty floor. She always told me she loved the moon and stars. Whatever she wanted, I’d give. I’d burn the world to ash and bone if she wanted. I’d kill a man for looking at her the wrong way. I took her home, waited until she was sleeping before I left. If she wanted the moon and stars, she’d get them. If she wanted a man’s severed head on a platter, she’d get it.
I’d watched her admire the glow of the stars for years. She had rows upon rows of replicas. Stars on the ceiling of her room, lights that resembled the moon. But nothing was as perfect, as real, as the glow of the night sky. She was the obsessive type. She obsessed and obsessed over things until she had them. As did I, when I set my sights on something. So when she came asking for the moon and stars, I’d already planned how to get them. I set my sights on it.
