My Mind
By Alen, Year 9
My mind is sapphire and scarlet sunlight. A bright sage stone with shamrocks and shadows. It wears wilted war clothes with caps and covers. Shimmering and shining in the shattered shards.
It harbours my secrets, my passions, my fears. It hears all I see, all I do, all I feel. It remembers my worries, my anger, my light. It keeps and treasures it, snuggled up tight.
My mind is tall, slender & slim. Its piercing red eyes, its star covered skin. Its mesmerising look, its reflective mortal sin. Its glass clawed hands, its all knowing grin.
It swallows my thoughts, galaxies and grains, secrets of the universe, held in my brain. Infinite forces, forever untamed. It keeps that power, held and contained.
Held and contained. It fuels my flame. Nurses and nurtures, played like a game. Cradles the creation, with cruelty and kindness, from beginning to end, you won’t have to fend.
He’ll lend you a hand, he’ll be your best friend, on him you can depend, you know he will defend. My mind will mend, sew and fend. It will be by your side until you ascend.
